‘Active Imagination’

Elva Robinson

As a child, Elva Robinson was often told she had an 'Active Imagination'. Whether or not that was intended as a compliment is uncertain, but she has turned her imagination into an asset.

Now in her mid-fifties, Elva's imagination remains active. This Fort Worth resident uses photography, digital manipulation, and paper sculpture techniques to create works of art which she calls "photosculpture." This combination of new technology with traditional paper sculpture results in imaginative and often playful works.
