Artist Bio

DJ Naehritz was born in Tyler, Texas in 1954 and spent the first 12 years of her life in Los Angeles.  From the beginning, she gravitated towards art, even selling her first piece at the age of 10: a paint by numbers of President Kennedy in neon.

At the age of 13, she moved to Texas, Arlington and then Fort Worth.  She worked as a designer and as a hair stylist, with art and creativity always being central to her work.  She then found herself focusing more directly on her art, spending days painting in a 10 x 10 square foot dining room across from the Fort Worth Zoo. She soon found recognition and acclaim by the Texas art world.

After having several prominent exhibitions in well-known Texas galleries such as Art251 in Keller and Janette Kennedy in Dallas, she was taken on in 2013 as a featured artist at the distinguished and long-running Santa Fe gallery, Canyon Road Contemporary Art.  Now with collectors across the country, she continues to create fascinating and surprising works of art.
